Our honored headmasters, our respectable teachers and our lovely students,

Good morning!

It’ a great honor to be here to give a short speech on behalf of all our beloved English teachers. It’s a great luck to be offered such an inspiring stage. It’s a great pleasure to hold the first English Festival of No2 Middle School attached to Xi’an Jiaotong University.

很荣幸，我能代表英语组全体亲爱的老师做一简短的讲话。很幸运学校领导给我们提供这么一个鼓舞人心的平台。很高兴交大二附中第一届英语学科节开幕了。

In order to create a happy and interesting English learning surroundings, our headmaster, Mr Sun, who is the major designer of this activity, put forward this idea--- to call on all our students to spare every possible minute reading and reciting language points to improve our students’ language level. Here I’ll show my heartfelt thanks to him.

为了给学生创设一个愉快有趣的英语学习氛围，这次活动的总设计师是我们孙校长，开学初他就提出这一想法——号召全体学生利用一切零碎的时间朗读背诵语言点和名句名段，以提高我们学生的语言水平。在此让我代表外语组表达最真诚的感谢。

My dear students, now we are living in this fast-developing world with some superpowers surrounding ourChinaon the sea and limiting our motherland’s construction, especially, the littleJapanwants to rob our fish island illegally? As a Chinese, do you agree? If your answer is “NO”.It means we won’t forget that history. What should we do? Let’s work harder to master English to learn hi-tech to make ourChinastronger and stronger so that we can be the master of ourselves, to be the master of our motherland and to be the master of our fish island and other islands nearby.

我亲爱的同学们，我们生活在快速发展的社会，但是世界上霸权国家虎视眈眈包围限制我国的发展，特别是小日本还想非法掠夺我们中国的钓鱼岛，作为一个中国人，你答应吗？如果你的答案是否定的，那就意味着我们不会忘记那段国耻。那就让我们一起共同努力吧！只有学好英语,掌握高科技,我们才能强国富民，做自己的主人，做祖国的主人，做钓鱼钓及其附属岛屿的主人

Our English Festival is an opportunity for our students to enrich their knowledge and display their talents and abilities, for our headmasters, teachers and parents to enjoy the happiness and success of our teachers’ and students’ hardworking. So we warmly welcome all the teachers, parents and students to come to enjoy our students’ wonderful performance.

我们的英语学科节是我们学生丰富自己知识的机会，是学生展示自己潜能的机会，是领导、老师和家长分享师生一起共同努力所获得的成果的喜悦和快乐。因此我们热烈欢迎全体师生和家长来欣赏我们学生的精彩的表现！

Now I’d like to express my heartfelt thanks for the planning, directing and supporting of our vice headmaster, Wang Qi, thanks for close co-operation of all our English teachers, thanks for our students’ active preparations for our English Festival. Finally, let’s wish together: our English Festival will be a great success. Our students will learn English more easily, happily and efficiently.

让我表达由衷的谢意：感谢王琪副校长的出谋划策和亲临指导，感谢外语组情同手足的同仁们的紧密合作，感谢为这次学科节积极准备同学们！最后，我们一起祝愿：我校的英语学科节圆满成功！愿我们的学生今后的英语学习更容易，更快乐，更高效！
